John I Doukas

John I Doukas
   Ruled Thessaly (ca. 1267-ca. 1289) from Neopatras (qq.v.), following the death of his father Michael II Komnenos Doukas. He was a fierce enemy of Michael VIII Palaiologos (q.v.) who besieged Neopatras in 1272-1273, and who died campaigning against John in 1282.
